Hello Parents! The Childcare Area is in need of snacks! There aren't that many dates left so we don't need a whole lot. A bag of goldfish, a box of graham crackers, or something like that would be great for our little ones to munch on while down there.
We also need 5 oz cups for the kiddos. If you have either of these needs around the house and would like to donate them - we'd appreciate it! You can bring them by the Childcare Area at any time - if no one is around, just place them on top of the cubbies. :)
Thanks for all you do!

Monday Night 4/20/09
"A longing fulfilled is a tree of life...a longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul."
Prov. 13:12 & 19
Prov. 13:12 & 19
Everyone can use some sweetness for the soul. What would fulfill a longing for you this Monday night? Spouse and family wants your relationships and your existence to be one that is life-filled, growing, and becoming new. Examine your soul this weekend. Are there withered places? Are there bitter places? Are there tired, lonely, dry places?
We can't fulfill every longing through a program or event, but we can provide opportunities for life and sweetness. This Monday night, childcare will be available, and what you do with the time you have (6:30-8:30pm) is your choice, but please spend that time in a life-giving activity. Spend time alone, with a spouse, with your Fusion group or with a friend, but do something that fulfills a longing for you.

Kids Art
Calling all child artists! We need your help. For the Asbury Reader this fall we would like to use some kids' artwork. Parents, have your child draw, paint or color their depictions of the following ideas. We're taking submissions until April 20th. The artwork should be on paper no larger than 8.5 x 11 and should be dropped off at the spouse and family office in the student center.
We're looking for depictions of the Kingdom of God. Share the parable with your child, explain the image used in the parable and possibly show them some examples of the imagery (i.e mustard seeds etc.), then ask them to draw or paint their own depictions. The parables are as follows:
The Kingdom of heaven is like-
*leaven
*treasure hidden in a field
*a merchant seeking fine pearls
*a dragnet cast into the sea
*mustard seed
*a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure
*a king who wanted to settle accounts
*a landowner who went out early
*a king who prepared a wedding banquet
Thanks for your submissions! We can't guarantee publication of all artwork, but we appreciate everyone's effort, and drawing about the parable could be a great learning opportunity for your family.
